Group Plan
Group Health Care insurance plan, also known as employer group insurance, is Medical Insurance specifically created for a business’ employees. There are many advantages to offering your employees health insurance. Here are just a few:
- Employee retention – People tend to think twice before switching jobs when their current job offers benefits
- Tax Advantages – usually whatever you contribute toward your employee’s premiums can be a tax write-off
- Liberal Underwriting – usually everyone gets accepted to a group plan regardless of health conditions
We can find a solution for your business regardless of the size of your business or the industry that you are in.
In order to be insured by the group insurance, usually, a full-time position is required by the company. Generally, there are no health condition exclusions imposed provided that you are an employee of the company. Group insurance has open enrollment periods that vary based on the insurance provider and depending on the state you live in, the employer is required to contribute a portion of the Health Insurance premiums.

Cobra Plan
COBRA is a law known as the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985. Cobra medical insurance plan is a continuation of an individual’s employer group insurance. COBRA is NOT a policy conversion. COBRA provides continued group coverage for terminated employees. If an employee voluntarily leaves their place of employment, they are usually ineligible for COBRA health care insurance plan. COBRA does carry a steep cost because whatever the employer was contributing is no longer being contributed and the employee is responsible for 102% of the health insurance premiums. The additional 2% is added for administrative expenses accrued. If an employee has preexisting conditions that would make them ineligible for an individual family plan it is in their best interest to elect for the COBRA health care insurance. COBRA usually lasts up to 18 months.

Senior Health Plans
Having the right senior health plan to protect you is very important. No one wants to get caught with a bunch of unexpected medical bills. The first day of the month you turn 65 you should enroll in a senior health plan. There will be an open enrollment period of six months. While in this initial open enrollment period you may not be declined for coverage and your preexisting conditions would be covered. After the first six months, if you decide to go with a different senior health plan you may be subject to underwriting at that time. So, choose your senior health care coverage carefully.
Senior health plans are also referred to as Medigap plans or Supplemental Insurance Plans. The reason for that is they cover the “gaps” in Medicare. Medicare has deductibles, coinsurance and copayments you are still responsible for paying. Senior Health Insurance would alleviate you from these burdensome costs of medical bills and confusing deductibles and copayments. Some of the gaps that these insurance products would cover are hospital deductibles, doctor copays, pints of blood and out of country emergency care.
Senior health plans also include Medicare Advantage Plans. Medicare Advantage will generally have low premiums in exchange for doctor and prescription co-pays and replaces Medicare Part A & B coverage. To qualify for either Medigap or Medicare Advantage insurance you must be enrolled in Medicare and over the age of 65.
Medicare is a federal insurance program for adults of age 65 and older. Medigap and Medicare Advantage; on the other hand, is sold by private insurance companies, but these policies are regulated and standardized by the government. All senior health plans sold today must abide by policy standards, basic benefits and basic coverage. In 2011, there are 11 senior health plans offered. They are: A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M and N. Some carriers may offer a high deductible Plan F. Carriers are not required to offer all 11 senior health plans.
Unfortunately the task of finding the right solution for your senior health plan is not an easy task and that is why we have State Licensed health insurance agents waiting to help you find the best plan at the best price.

Individual Family Plan
When it comes to one’s family, we always want the very best for them. When it comes to their health and wellbeing, one should not take the chance and go without Medical Insurance. It can be far more costly to be without, both financially and emotionally.
Whether you are single, married without children, or a full family; an individual family plan might be exactly what you are looking for. If your employer does not offer health benefits or if you are self-employed an individual family plan will offer doctor visit copayments, prescription coverage, OBGYN preventive visits, child immunizations and much more of today’s health essentials. Individual family plan will also cover you from more catastrophic events such as hospitalization, cancer treatments, and ER visits to name a few.
Many insurance carriers offer individual family plan but the plan’s deductibles, copayments and coinsurances will differ, so it is very important to weigh out your options and work closely with your broker or agent to be sure you buy the right individual family plan.

Maternity Plans
Having a child is a true blessing but unfortunately there is a financial burden associated with having them. I’m not talking about diapers, milk, formula, or an iPod, a car, or even college (the list really never ends). The cost of actually having the baby can be expensive. The list really begins with doctor visits, prenatal care, ultrasounds, and a hospital visit.
It is imperative to plan ahead (before you get pregnant) and obtain a Medical Insurance plan with maternity included. Not all plans include a maternity benefit so be sure to choose your plan carefully. Also, maternity Medical Insurance cannot be purchased once you become pregnant and cannot be purchased “by itself” or “stand alone”, it must be accompanied by an Individual Family Plan or even a High Deductible Health Plan and would be included in the Health Insurance Quotes.
